ETCF Partnership Grant Scheme Projects – Kick-off meeting

The Kick-off Meeting for the ETCF Partnerships was held on January 13th and 14th 2009 in Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul. The Kick-off Meeting has been organized by EUROCHAMBRES and TOBB.

EUROCHAMBRES and TOBB who have been managing the overall ETCF project are also what we call a “Support Unit” in the context of the implementation of the Partnership Projects.
193 people attended the Kick-off Meeting from Turkish and EU Chambers, Embassies from EU countries in Turkey, TOBB, EUROCHAMBRES, CFCU and the EC Delegation.

On January 13th, opening speeches were given by Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB; Mr. Pierre Simon, President of EUROCHAMBRES; Tibor Varadi, Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission; Oğuz Demiralp, Secretary General of the General Secretariat for EU Affairs and the newly appointed Minister of State and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış. Following the opening statements, trainings on Grant Scheme implementation procedures were given by ETCF Team members and the CFCU.

On January 14th, the ETCF Partnership Projects were presented briefly by one of their project team members.

The implementation of the partnerships started on 1st December 2008.
